Monday 23rd July 4.25 in the Afternoon

It may seem like an odd title but when I explain what it means and how it is a special day for me and Laarni from now on, you will understand!

Laarni gave birth to our baby son and everything went well. It was a quick birth with it being a cesarean, however Laarni will have to recover for a time from the operation.  A Filipina and an Englishman having a child will probably raise eyebrows and it certainly did in the hospital. Naturally everyone- the Chinese doctors, patients and visitors- were all very curious to see what a foreign baby looked like and they seemed very happy about everything!

Our friends and the Chinese people who saw the baby say he looks like me- I think he looks like Yoda, but most babies do anyway!  He is quite big but also tall as well- due to the fact that he was actually supposed to be born on the 3rd of July so he is 20 days overdue!

Rain, Sun, Hot and Humid

The title pretty much sums up the weather here in Changchun at the moment- very interchangeable indeed. Teaching is going great. I was doing a lot of teaching every week but its been cut down to around 18 hours a week now with my time split between 12.5 hours at a Kindergarden and 6 hours at the school i teach for the company. I wont lie- its hard work. You have to be very active, patient but the rewards are there to see in the children's faces.  My time with the company, as ive said before, is really good. The teachers, Chinese assistant teachers and the children themselves are great.

Anytime soon , my girlfriend will give birth to a baby boy. Definitely this month- maybe in the next week or so. We are both very excited about the new addition to the family- Now to think of a name for the little man! We havent really decided on one yet!

As a side note- if Ryan is reading this. I picked up a copy of both Audition and Ichi the Killer from Gui Lin Lu! They were both the proper editions. He will hate me for that! You can get many Dvds here in China, a lot faster than back home (So much so that films just released in cinemas seem to find there way into Chinese dvd shops- but we wont talk about that!)  Sometimes the quality is not good but you are only paying a few RMB here and there anyway!
